What was your work experience before joining CodeAcademy?
Before enrolling at CodeAcademy, I worked as a freelance video operator for a long time.
Why did you choose to study at CodeAcademy?
When I decided to switch careers and started researching where I could learn cybersecurity, CodeAcademy’s program stood out as the most comprehensive and in-depth compared to other schools available in the market.
What were your goals when you started studying?
I wanted to retrain quickly and intensively so I could find a job and start gaining experience as soon as possible. That’s why I was thrilled to find a four-month, full-time course that fit my needs.
How did you stay motivated during tough times?
Cybersecurity is a fascinating field—at first, my curiosity and desire to learn new things kept me motivated. Later, my family and friends provided great support, as they saw me as proof that changing careers is possible if you truly want it.
How did you land your first job?
During my studies, instructors and the Career Center kept emphasizing one thing: “LinkedIn, LinkedIn, and LinkedIn again!” At first, it felt like an unfamiliar platform, but once I started using it actively and reaching out to companies I was interested in, I received an invitation to an internship. Now, I’m working at the same company full-time!
What advice would you give to others looking to switch careers?
The most important thing is to find something that genuinely interests you. While you can learn a new profession in just a few months, in the job market, you’ll need to keep learning continuously—probably for the rest of your life. That’s why it’s crucial to choose a field that truly excites you.
