Can you share your work experience before enrolling at CodeAcademy?

Before joining CodeAcademy, I worked as a civil servant, so my previous professional experience was not related to the IT field.

Why did you choose to study at CodeAcademy?

I chose CodeAcademy because of its modern and relevant training programs, as well as its experienced instructors with years of industry expertise. The knowledge they shared and the tools they introduced aligned with the latest market trends.

What were your initial goals when you decided to study at CodeAcademy?

Even before enrolling at CodeAcademy, I was already exploring cybersecurity on my own. My main goal was to gain a deeper understanding of theoretical concepts and develop practical skills that would help me prepare for and successfully pass certifications such as CompTIA Security+.

How did you stay motivated during challenging moments?

The instructors and fellow students played a big role in keeping me motivated. Being surrounded by like-minded individuals who were eager to learn, support each other, and share experiences made it easy to stay engaged and focused.

What did you do to land your first job?

While studying at CodeAcademy, I actively expanded my professional network on LinkedIn, connecting with cybersecurity specialists and sharing my achievements. One key milestone was earning my CompTIA Security+ certification, which I was able to pass thanks to the knowledge gained at CodeAcademy. After posting about this certification on LinkedIn, I started receiving job offers, and one of them led me to my current position at the National Cyber Security Center.

What advice would you give to those considering a career change?

First and foremost, make sure you are truly interested in the field you want to transition into and are willing to dive deep into it. Keep in mind that the journey won’t always be easy—many concepts will be new and might seem difficult at first. However, don’t let that discourage you. Focus on breaking down the learning process into smaller, manageable steps instead of trying to grasp everything at once. Continuous learning and steady progress will soon show how much knowledge and experience you can accumulate.
